Johan Cruyff Foundation

The Cruyff Foundation was established in 1997 by Dutch football legend Johan Cruyff and has as a mission to get children active through various projects that stimulate sports & games. This is achieved through three focus areas; the Cruyff Courts, Schoolyard14 and sport projects for disabled children. Not only do these projects provide state-of-the-art facilities to be physically active, they also provide health and personal development support. Nowadays children have too little time, space or interest for sports. Youngsters are constantly online, cope with an abundance of stimuli and have a shorter concentration curve. By participating in sport and games it’s proven that they are healthier and achieve better results in school and later in their life. Additionally, they learn how to be part of a team and can explore their talents. But above all, sports should be just plain fun no matter what your background is. With these projects more than 100,000 children enjoy sports and games on a weekly basis.
